Ground Broken for Free-Standing Cottages

Joyce Rivers, of Woodstock, can't wait. The owner of the former Rivers Edge Antiques placed the first priority deposit on one of Creamery Brook Retirement Village's new, independent-living cottages and was on hand when ground was broken last fall.

"I'm very excited and looking forward to moving into my new home," explained Ms. Rivers. "The cottages will suit my lifestyle perfectly. I can continue to do the things I enjoy without having to worry about maintaining a large house or security while I travel."

The ten, free-standing cottages will offer 1,200 or 1,600 square feet of living space on one level and feature two bedrooms, an attached garage, washer, dryer and dishwasher. Residents will also be provided with full maintenance, weekly housekeeping, a optional daily meal in Creamery Brook's Dining Room, a full offering of entertainment and activities along with the security of an around-the-clock staff.

"Our cottages offer an exciting new lifestyle for the active couple or individual over 55 years of age who want fewer home ownership responsibilities," explained Creamery Brook's David Bamber. "They also allow us to provide a range of senior living options, from independent cottage living to residential apartment living to skilled nursing care all on one campus.
